My Brother’s Romance isn’t groundbreaking by any means, but it is mostly solid stuff. The movie has a crazy energy that proves to be catching.

The main actors Zanjoe Marudo and Cristine Reyes portrayal of their roles was good enough. Zanjoe Marudo is quietly proving himself to be quite the versatile talent.

It’s also supported by dynamic cast that keeps up with a rapid fire pace of joke telling.

I Kept laughing and laughing sometimes however there are few dull moments.

The story does have a few problems. The movie lacks resolution.The movie doesn’t quite keep its story together, the whole production seemingly losing its nerve as it neared the finale.

As a whole, the film is just okay.

Star Cinema’s entry to the 39th edition of the annual film festival is a big-screen version of “Be Careful With My Heart.”

The TV series were directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial.

First aired in July 2012 and originally set for a one-season run, “Be Careful With My Heart” has been extended numerous times due to its popularity, and is now close to airing for a year.

In April, ABS-CBN president and chief executive officer Charo Santos-Concio said in jest that the series will stay on air “forever,” when asked if it will be extended once again.

“It will be there forever (laughs). Hanggang magkaroon ng apo (laughs). That’s always a challenge for our content creators. The challenge is always for the next big hit… but for the meantime, as long as the public is supporting ‘Be Careful With My Heart,’ it will be there,” she said.

The 18-year-old Daniel recently inks a deal with ABS-CBN film outfit Star Cinema for a series of movies featuring him as the lead actor. Kathryn Bernardo on her part prepares a lot for the upcoming movie although they were busy with their teleserye.

The teen love team more popularly as KathNiel got a positive response during their launching movie, Must Be Love.

It will also feature Enchong Dee and Ms. Coney Reyes. Vangie Labalan, Carmi Martin, Angeline Quinto and Sam Milby also have appearances on the movie.

The said movie is directed by box-office director Cathy Garcia Molina It will be the first movie offering this year celebrating the 20th anniversary of Star Cinema.

In Four Sisters and A Wedding, Angel, Bea, Toni and Shaina, as well as Enchong will be playing the role of siblings with Coney Reyes as their mother. According to reports Four Sisters and A Wedding is a family dramedy (combination of drama and comedy).

Kris Aquino herself revealed the news in her morning talk show, saying that she will meet with someone regarding the said movie on Wenesday.

“Ngayon iri-reveal ko sa inyong lahat on Wednesday after the elections may ka-meeting po ako for what could possibly be Bimbs’ first movie for the Metro Manila Film Festival,” she said.

Kris also said she made sure that her son is the “bida” in the upcoming movie.

“Excited ako about this project, noong tumawag pa lang sila. ‘Basta bida anak ko ha,’” she added.

Already, Aquino said that she won’t work while Bimby is filming the movie.

However, the Queen of All Media will not be working while Bimby is filming, for she intends to be with the kid all the time while he is doing his first movie.

“Winarningan ko na sila na habang nagshu-shooting si Bimb hindi ako magta-trabaho, magbabantay lang ako,” she added.

The story of the movie is not unique it echoes the string of infidelity film that topped the box office in the last months. The film looks like a local TV series, its visuals completely flat and lifeless.

Lovi Poe gives the best performance among the three lead stars, however she settles for stupid, making her dramatic scenes awkward and not convincing.

Jennylyn Mercado’s performance is balanced. She gets her character’s innocence, but fails to grasp the more complicated parts.

Paulo Avelino, being the male in this adultery formula has nothing much to do in this film. His character should have been more defined. It’s understandable that the lead cast aren’t able to do much with their characters.

What’s good about the The Bride and the Lover is how it uses camp elements to intensify the movie goer’s interest.

The movie tries to have it both ways, and it ends up with nothing. For me, It wasn’t a really good movie, but despite all these flaws,  The Bride and the Lover is still an entertaining movie worth watching for me.

Directed by Ian Lorenos, “Alagwa” is a movie about human trafficking and is inspired by an urban legend in Manila’s Chinatown where Lorenos grew up.

“May isang urban legend, sana walang bata ang natakot. Lahat kami, kabataan namin, natakot kami doon sa kwentong ‘yun and hindi na naalis sa isipan natin. So I ended up making a story revolving around that urban legend,” Lorenos previously told ABS-CBN News.

Since its premiere earlier this year, “Alagwa” won several awards at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) International Film Festival and the Philippine Movie Press Club.

Kapamilya child star Bugoy Cariño, who plays Rosales’ son in the film, also took home several acting awards.

After its success in the international festival circuit, Rosales is now aiming for a nationwide Philippine release for the acclaimed movie.

Eugene Domingo portrays the role of Fiesta, a bus barker who turned spinster out of dedication to take good care of his demented father. Her life changes after she met Nato (Jake Cuenca), a driver who won her heart but with a dark secret.

Leo Martinez is Tonio, a retired old man past his prime who risked his pension to fulfill his dream of becoming a baker. Meanwhile, Enchong Dee plays Caloy, a young man who vowed to preserve his virginity for his girlfriend Angel (Empress), who also agreed to give her virginity only to Caloy. However, long distance relationship and a new guy in Angel’s life challenged Caloy’s faithfulness to the said pact.

According to Eugene Domingo, Tuhog’s script is one of the best she had read for a long time and given a chance to compete in international film festivals, the award-winning actress said that Tuhog’s screenplay will have a good chance of winning.

Written by Veronica Velasco and Jinky Laurel and also directed by Veronica Velasco and also written by , Tuhog will open in theaters May 29, 2013.
